The Savior was Booed

Did the Savior win the hearts of his disciples through oratory and rhetoric? Did he seek to please crowds by telling them what they wanted to hear? Did He crave standing ovations?  I am sure he received rousing applause when he told the political, cultural, and religious leaders of his day: “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

Anthea Butler recently posted some thoughts on the NAACP convention in Houston– I booed Romney for Jesus. She said concerning Romney, “What we see is a man who, despite his wealth, has not spent much time outside of his social, religious, or business circles to get to know the people he wants to serve.”
