Premiering on GSN (Game Show Network) this summer 2012, the show aims to celebrate the Bible and its continuing importance. GSN’s Vice President of Programming and Development, David Schiff, sees it as an opportunity to meet a need. “[The Christian market] is not being served by the mainstream media.” He was “excited” by the huge turnout in Dallas, noting “people were in line before we even opened.” Comedian Jeff Foxworthy will host the studio-based show. Schiff says Foxworthy “ticked all the boxes: he knows Scripture, he’s serious about his faith, he’s celebratory, and he’s respectful.”
A steady stream of enthusiastic would-be contestants lined up for their chance to impress casting directors. As hopeful contestant Jesse Means put it, “We love game shows, we love the Bible…why not?” Teams of three will compete to win “a significant amount” of cash for their favorite charity. That motivated another contestant, Grant Tittle. “I have autism and I want to help make the world a better place for autistic people.”
