President Wilford Woodruff (1807–1898) affirmed: “We cannot find anywhere within the lids of the Bible where the Lord ever had a people he acknowledged except they were led by immediate revelation.”
Noah for 120 years preached repentance and built an ark under direct revelation. Joseph of Egypt survived abandonment by his brothers, prison, and pharaoh’s court by express revelation. Moses while shouldering the temporal and spiritual burdens of millions of people in the wilderness was led by immediate revelation. So was Daniel while in Babylonian captivity. Peter, the head apostle led the Church of Jesus Christ in his part of the world by revelation (see Matthew 16:16–19). The precedent is clearly established in the Bible.
