They Still Ban Books for Contradicting the Bible

A while ago I wrote about an idiot school oversight board that restricted a Sherlock Holmes novel from students because it said mean things about the Mormons. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of this nonsense still going around. Here’s a report via an education blog of idiot school board members in Republic, Mo., banning one book from the school library, “Twenty Boy Summer,” and yanking another, the classic “Slaughterhouse-Five,” from the curriculum.

School board members were prompted to ban the books after a certain Wesley Scroggins complained publicly that the books “contradicted the Bible.” The surly Mr. Scroggins complained after the board’s actions that he wished a third book, “Speak,” had also been banned.
