Lights, Menorah and Action for Hanukkah

Sundown tonight marks the beginning of Hanukkah, which is being marked by Jewish schoolkids in Brookline with candlemaking and charitable works.

Jewish families will gather around a menorah for the next eight nights, lighting a candle each night in celebration of the miraculous eight days that a menorah burned with what should have only been one day’s worth of consecrated oil to rededicate the Temple in Jerusalem after Syrian occupiers were chased from the Holy Land.
