O'Donnell: 'I've Matured in my Faith & Policies'

Editor's Note: CNN's Jim Acosta and Bonney Kapp caught up with Christine O'Donnell on the campaign trail. During their interview the topic of her faith came up.

Delaware Republican Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell granted me a 10-minute interview at her campaign headquarters on Thursday. Here are the highlights:

On the Bill Maher tapes: "No I haven't been embarrassed. And I'm not saying that I'm proud. You know, obviously what they're trying to do is paint a picture of who I was 20 years ago. I've matured in my faith. I've matured in my policies. Today you have a 40-something woman running for office. Not a 20-year-old. So that's a big difference."

"A lot of what I said ... I had a new-found faith and I saw this an opportunity to talk about the faith on national TV and more as a ministry opportunity. But voters need to rest assured that when I go to Washington D.C., it's the Constitution by which I will make all of my decisions. And I will defend their right to disagree with me."

Has she matured beyond using campaign funds for personal expenses .. months after campaigns are over?

I'm sorry but she's a crook.

She may be a crook but isn't she cute the way she makes mistakes like that Palin woman?And that money is "speech" now, so can't she do what she wants with her freedom of "speech"?

The real question is "Is Evolution a fact?" If she still says no, we know what sort of person she is.

That being an uneducated faith based person who sees nothing wrong with disregarding facts for her own personal faith.

That's not the sort of person I want in any position of power.

When one applies to business school, one must write essays. The most common essay from previously underperforming students is how they've matured, changed and now dedicated to their future. Most of the time, these students are rejected. Nearly every admiissions officer will pause and think to themselves, "what are the chances the applicant has actually matured and changed? And they are just now realizing they need to get on the right track? Why should I be the one to let them in my school?" I'm sorry O'Donnell, you're running for Senate. You should be rejected based off of this one stupid statement, not withstanding your crooked past and rejcetion of basic science.

She is worse than a crook, she is an Evangelical Christian Dogmatist.

Tis up to the voters in Delaware to decide but Christy O was still hearing god's voice in 2006 so said voters might be a bit leary about Christy O in 2010.

"Hearing voices no one else can hear isn't a good sign, even in the wizarding world." Ron Weasley from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

See, she's weird even by witch standards.

Funny, she wants people to take her as she is now, and to not judge her on what she was in her youth, right? Considering how most of her supporters completely ignore what Obama says he is now and are obsessed with his past, both imagined and real, she might be appealing to the wrong audience.

LOL@ NL... Absolutely!

@NL

Very nice... LOL...!!!

@NL

An excellent point. Good post!

I don't care what any of you say! I want this country run by religious nuts!

Can any of you prove she doesn't hear the voice of god? Pat Robertson hears the voice of god. He makes yearly predictions. Most of these are wrong, or could be extrapolated from events occurring now. But what does that prove?

Many Christians "examine" other religions before finding the one true god. I myself had that brief animal sacrifice to Baal thing. The stealing old people from the home, was never proven.

That was over 20 years ago. I've probably matured by now. I'm probably mostly sane. You'd let me crash on your couch, right? Help run your country...

David-I can just hear your mother now "I thought you said you ran over that cat by accident? I should have known that nobody runs over the same animal six times, picks through its intestines and burns its heart on an alter by mistake!"

So she's going to scrap the health care bill that already is doing what she wants to do... Stick by the const!tuion except when it applies to people who are not like her... She doesn't have an opinion on environmental change or evolution, but of course that will never come up in making decisions in public office... She wants to replace "career politicians" when a few months back according to her party, Mr Obama was just a community organiser... She still has not answered about her odd financial practices even though she is running on fiscal responsibility... And with all the information she put out there about herself, we're just supposed to ignore it all and vote for her on blind faith? Really? Well at least she has one thing going for her... she's distancing herself from her christian rightist base as fast as she can. I guess the polls showed they wouldn't back her if they think she's not one of them anymore, hence the "I am not a witch". But what do you expect form someone who said she would flounce around in a bikini if it got her votes? Well at least she's sticking to her real principles, do anything to get a vote.

@Frogist

I agree. She makes me want to restrict voting rights. Her feet must look like swiss cheese from shooting herself in the foot so often.

Speaking of hearing the voice of god, Has anyone seen the Richard Roberts healing hour?
