Former Applebee's waitress Chelsea Welch insists she had no idea what she'd started when she posted a receipt from a customer who refused to tip, crossing out the automatic gratuity for large parties, adding "pastor" to her name, and lecturing "I give God 10% Why do you get 18[?]." For what it's worth, we believe her. Welch accidentally kicked off the Great Jesus Tip War of 2013, including plenty of debate about God-inspired gratuities; insanely large tips tagged "@tipsforjesus"; and a fake hate crime.
