German Lutheran Nazi Kingdoms?

One of the common popular criticisms of the two kingdoms doctrine defended by Reformed theologians like David VanDrunen and Michael Horton runs something like this:

  1. VanDrunen and Horton hold to the two kingdoms doctrine.
  2. The German Lutheran churches under Hitler justified their refusal to resist Hitler because of their two kingdoms doctrine.
  3. Therefore the two kingdoms affirmed by VanDrunen and Horton doctrine is dangerous.
