My disclaimer is that I have two nephews whom I love very much who attend Mark Driscoll’s church in Seattle. They are both fine young men. One studied to become a pastor. One serves on a worship team. Both nephews are married to beautiful and engaging women, women who love the Lord wholeheartedly.
I put that out there because I know going into this that people I love and care about will strongly disagree with what I have to say. We will still love each other after this post. Just because I’m their elder doesn’t mean I’m more right than they are in these matters. But I will say that I think there is a seasoning that comes with age, a seasoning that allows for a discernment that cannot be gleaned solely from reading books and y’all know...
