Twenty years ago I read a book about sustaining and defending the faith. I remember the opening line of the book to this day: “As the night follows the day, so opposition follows the truth.”
The Savior told his disciples to expect opposition and respond appropriately. “Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake” (see Matthew 5:10–11).
